Class Files

If you choose to download the JAVA runtime environment (JRE) for Windows 95 or 98, use this procedure for either "applications", or for "applets" that you can view with your web browser.

Applets:

1) Download JRE version 1.2.2 from this site, or from http://java.sun.com/products/jdk/1.2/jre

2) Install JRE in default location c:\Program Files\Javasoft\jre\1.2

3) Modify PATH command in autoexec.bat PATH=XXYYZZ;c:\Progra~1\Javasoft\jre\1.2\bin

where XXYYZZ were your previous settings for PATH

4) Reboot computer 

5) view the Magic Squares and Hyper Cubes page with your browser

Applications:

  1. Download JRE version 1.2.2 from this site, or from http://java.sun.com/products/jdk/1.2/jre
  2. Install JRE in default location c:\Program Files\Javasoft\jre\1.2
  3. Modified PATH command in autoexec.bat PATH=XXYYZZ;c:\Progra~1\Javasoft\jre\1.2\bin where XXYYZZ were your previous settings for PATH
  4. Create a new directory c:\Magic01 (or any other directory name that you like)
  5. Load the nine .class files into a new directory (for example,  c:\Magic01)
  6. Reboot computer
  7. Execute the program by typing: java HyperMagic01
