Note: This page is not intended for general viewing. Readers of this page should be here only by special request.
I originally created the 01 web site for two reasons:
1. to learn about HTML and making a web site, and
2. to organize what I learned about my instrument so I could find it when I wanted it.
I never actively promoted the site, so I was surprised and pleased to get the occasional e-mail expressing positive sentiments about the site. Since the only compensation I get from my work are these remarks, I have gathered them here for those days when a little inspiration would be nice.
This site won't mean much to those who don't have a Korg 01/W synthesizer,
but if you'd like to visit the site these comments are about, click
here to go to the 01 On-Line Manual.
I love this site!!!
Wow! …your site is INCREDIBLE!
Trust me, it is by _far_ the most useful Korg 01w site on the web! :)
WONDERFUL! I have put the address under my "favorites".
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations. What a wonderfully well written and informative site.
… thanks for that great web site. …without your site, I don't know what
I would have done.
I'm a regular visitor to your 01 site(s) and I sincerely feel that congratulations
are in order. Your pages make any, repeat, any other "synth help" pages
pale into insignificance
Thanks for the website, it's nicely done and informative..!
thank you for a wonderful resource on the internet.
I love this site!!! I've been trying to piece together an 01w site, but I think yours covers everything. Anyway, keep up the good work.
Quite an impressive site!
Ken, your page is great!

May I ask a question?? Have you ever worked with blind people before? Because if you haven't, you are really good at explaining things. ... I have sent off for information about how to get a braille manual, but you were so good, that maybe I don't need one of those after all!
Date: Wed, 27 May 1998 11:32:02 -0400
I looked at the web page... it looks good to me. I am sure a lot of 01 owners will find this info useful.
When you have time please let the rest of the people on the list know about your web site. Thanks

I have to say I was very impressed with the 01/W website, it's very indepth...so much so that after scanning through it, my head is spinning.:-)
Date: Thu, 28 Jan 1999 15:34:15 -0500
I happen to own Kens Book, and have a three inch hardcopy stack of the other Korg 01/W topics, from his Web Site. The book is well worth buying, between the book and the Web site it would clear up a lot of confusion.

Ken, you're the hero of the day. You may sleep well tonight, knowing that your generous assistance saved some numbskull the time, money and embarassment of taking a functional keyboard in for repairs. May good fortune fall upon you in excess. I owe you another one.

I'm new to the Net, but have been using the 01 Pros professionally since '94. Your site is a godsend for "vintage" board users like me, and I'm glad I found it!

I just discovered your 01/w site - it's wonderful! It's quite rare to find sites on the 01/w at all; to find one so comprehensive and lucid is truly a blessing. Thanks!

Hi Andrew (and group),
I hope Ken W. doesn't mind me revealing an excellent tip from his book to answer this question. (This tip is one of many you can find in his book _Korg 01/W Percussion Manual_ and I highly recommend buying it while you still can.) ...
(check out Ken's wonderful page on the 01/W at http://net.indra.com/~cliffcan/01online.htm )
Date: Tue, 12 Dec 2000 07:24:09 EST
Firstly I must congratulate you on a very in depth and informative site.

Date: Fri, 05 Jan 2001 12:03:26 +0100
Try this: http://net.indra.com/~cliffcan/01online.htm
It's the best on line manual for 01/W
Date: Sun, 21 Jan 2001 05:47:52 -0600
I did visit the website, long enough to be impressed by the fact that it actually is loaded with useful information, unlike the majority of websites.
A bookmark to your website has been added to my short list of meat-and-potatoes sites. The effort you've made is appreciated by those of us who lack the discipline it must take to collect so great a volume of useful tidbits, categorize, distill and apply them to the written page.
Then, to send it out into the world, never knowing how your gift will be received. That's gotta take guts.
You are making your mark on the world, and your efforts are appreciated.
I will close quickly before the urge to ask something like "where can
I get a Xeroxed copy of your books?" overcomes me and I wind up blurting
it right out. Oops.
Date: Thu, 1 Feb 2001 23:00:34 +0200
I just found your website, and wow!
That's a lot of work and I offer (belated) appreciation. I still own an O1R/W and use it all the time in my work as a TV and film composer.
Date: Fri, 2 Feb 2001 23:26:02 -0800
This is a great site.

I just want to say thanks for putting up your site (I just discovered it a week ago). I recently had a stuck key and the info that you put up was very helpful.
All the best to you.

Congratulation for your very nice site !
Date: Thu, 8 Mar 2001 21:09:35 -0800 (PST)
I recently purchased a 01/W Pro X for my father. It did not come with a manual and your site has been a god send. As you know, Korg no longer supports the 01/W, not even manuals which is easy money for them.
Date: Fri, 9 Mar 2001 00:50:43 GMT
Hopefully you have no intentions of removing this page now that i have found it!!! It's brilliant. If you are going to remove it, or something untoward happens to it, please consider letting me have an off line copy.
Thanks a million

Thanks so much for your excellent Korg website. I have just finished fixing the high-pitched whine on my O1W FD, by following the explicit directions given in your material. It worked great!

I AM armed with http://net.indra.com/~cliffcan/01online.htm/, which is a real godsend about compatible drives, so I have something to arm a decent tech with there.)

I read the manuel you have on the internet. Your posted manuel was easy to read. Thank you very much for having this online for ignorant people like me to be more educated with such a high tech machine. The instructions were easy to follow.

Subject: The KORG works!
You have made this music loving, non-musically talented pastor a hero among the musicians in my church. I followed the procedure you outlined; found the MIDI Channel setting to be “02” instead of the “01” you indicated was correct. After changing it, everything works fine. My thanks for your help. If you ever need a prayer or a sermon, maybe I can help back.
Date: Tue, 29 May 2001 15:35:31 -0000

Yes, it is!!! Go to this web page for more complete info: http://net.indra.com/~cliffcan/01fdd1.htm
In fact, put the home page in your Favorites folder and take the time to study all the pages (and there are lots of them) -- it will be your very best friend as you learn about your 01Wfd:
This is the 01W "Bible", next to the hard-to-find-now user manual, for every seasoned user of this list.
