The Green Mask

Grand Gulch, Utah

The Green Mask

Sally J. Cole in Legacy On Stone writes, "The painting probably represents a whole face and hair scalp decorated by bands of paint...". This life-sized Puebloan painting sits about 30 feet up on the cliff wall and is known as The Green Mask.

This site features Archaic Polychrome Abstract glyphs and Puebloan Basketmaker images.

Anasazi Images

Paint has eroded away from this panel leaving the two Basketmaker figures on the left without heads.

Polychrome Glyphs

Red and black Polychrome Abstract glyphs, Archaic in origin, high up on the cliff wall.
