Snake-In-Mouth

Snake-In-Mouth Barrier Canyon Rock Art Panel

This north facing panel sits a couple hundred feet high up on a steep cliff. The main figure is roughly life size and has blue eyes and a blue snake in its mouth. There is also blue pigment on the large snake below the rain cloud, and another snake is on the right. As with most BC style art, some paint has likely faded. The figure on Snake-In-Mouth’s hand probably represents a bird, as indicated by the “feathers”. It may be that part of the panel has been covered up by the water seepage deposit on the right.
