The Three Rivers site in New Mexico features hundreds of Jornada style petroglyphs pecked onto volcanic rocks. |

|
The artists used the existing contours of the rock when creating this face. Due to being on the corner of the rock and facing south, in the mornings and evenings one side will be illuminated while the other is in shadow. |

I see three faces. This panel was hidden under a thorn bush and partially buried, making it difficult to photograph. On my trips back to Three Rivers I've not been able to find this image again. |

View looking East. A lion or bear paw, birds flying south, a scorpion, and other creatures.

There are a number of interesting masks at this site. Schaafsma suggests that the star on the cheek represents a roadrunner footprint and the glyph below the mouth may be a carnivore footprint. |
